Borders League Race #6 – Eryri

Sunday 12th of April saw the 6th and penultimate Borders League race in Caernarfon, hosted by Eryri Harriers. We had another excellent turnout from Buckley, with 20 runners in total braving the longer than normal journey to run the 10k course.

It was a very windy morning for running, which made it really tough, although the wind was behind on the way back. The course direction had to be changed to avoid an early head wind and this actually made for some fast times, with negative splits being common.

The ladies had an excellent result being third on the day and consolidating their overall position thanks to strong performances all round. The men did well too, 3rd on the day but very close behind 2nd place. They have consolidated their 3rd place overall which is now virtually guaranteed.

Slightly less sure is the position in the vets table. We are still in the lead overall, but with a slightly reduced margin. Wallasey are currently a close second, so we need a good turnout and strong run by our vets at the 7th and final race on Wednesday 22nd April, if we are to win the title.

A selection of pictures from the day can be seen below. Well done to all of those who took part!
